description	The purpose of this research project is to analyze the challenges generated by the arrival of AI in accounting practice and the adaptation strategies needed to face these changes. Artificial intelligence has experienced a great advance in recent years, which has made it possible to automate some tasks that were previously performed by professionals. Nonetheless, the accounting profession is thought to be broad and complex, and while AI can take care of repetitive tasks, there are many others that require specialized skills and knowledge that only a professional can provide. This research seeks to contribute knowledge to the academic and professional field about this new technological era that has been taking place with the presence of artificial intelligence and how it is being included in the accounting profession. The methodology by which the research was carried out is descriptive, the primary research tools are constituted by the elaboration of surveys aimed at students and teachers of public accounting, while the secondary information tools are constituted by the various investigative means that will be essential to obtain pertinent information and enrich the research. among which are: Documents, websites, and repositories. The research reveals how artificial intelligence is transforming, rather than replacing, the role of the accounting professional towards more analytical and strategic activities. Emerging technology is identified as an instrument that, if properly exploited, can enhance the efficiency of accounting processes, allowing professionals to focus on analysis and decision-making, beyond routine tasks. It was concluded that, to successfully navigate this evolving landscape, accounting professionals must take a proactive approach towards learning and skill development. This includes not only technical capabilities directly related to artificial intelligence and automation, but also those soft skills that enable effective adaptation to change and the ability to add value through the strategic interpretation and application of financial data.

El presente proyecto de investigación se propone analizar los desafíos generados con la llegada de la IA en la práctica contable y las estrategias de adaptación necesarias para afrontar estos cambios. La inteligencia artificial ha experimentado un gran avance en los últimos años, lo cual ha permitido automatizar algunas tareas que antes eran realizadas por profesionales. No obstante, se piensa que la profesión contable es amplia y compleja, y aunque la IA puede encargarse de tareas repetitivas, existen muchas otras que requieren habilidades y conocimientos especializados que solo un profesional puede brindar. Esta investigación busca aportar conocimiento al campo académico y profesional sobre esta nueva era tecnológica que se ha venido dando con la presencia de la inteligencia artificial y como se está incluyendo en la profesión contable. La metodología mediante la cual se llevó adelante la investigación es de tipo descriptiva, las herramientas de investigación primaria están constituidas por la elaboración de encuestas dirigidas a estudiantes y docentes de contaduría pública, mientras que las de información secundaria son constituidas por los diversos medios investigativos que serán esenciales para obtener información pertinente y enriquecer la investigación, dentro de los cuales están: Documentos, sitios webs y repositorios. La investigación revela cómo la inteligencia artificial está transformando, más que reemplazando, el rol del profesional contable hacia actividades más analíticas y estratégicas. Se identifica a la tecnología emergente como un instrumento que, adecuadamente aprovechado, puede potenciar la eficiencia de los procesos contables, permitiendo a los profesionales centrarse en el análisis y la toma de decisiones, más allá de las tareas rutinarias. Se concluyó que, para navegar con éxito en este panorama en evolución, los profesionales contables deben adoptar un enfoque proactivo hacia el aprendizaje y el desarrollo de habilidades. Esto incluye no solo las capacidades técnicas directamente relacionadas con la inteligencia artificial y la automatización, sino también aquellas habilidades blandas que permiten una adaptación efectiva a los cambios y la capacidad de agregar valor a través de la interpretación y aplicación estratégica de los datos financieros.
